Failure modes for QEM decimation. All are input-integrity or buffer-sizing faults surfaced fail-closed; a finite, in-bounds mesh always decimates to a finite result.
Variants§
IndexOutOfBounds
A triangle referenced a vertex index outside vertices.
NonFiniteCoordinate
A referenced vertex had a non-finite coordinate (NaN / ±∞).
DegenerateInputFace
A face was degenerate on input (two identical corner indices).
VertexOutputTooSmall
The vertex output buffer is too small; needs at least required entries.
TriangleOutputTooSmall
The triangle output buffer is too small; needs at least required entries.
InvalidTarget
target_faces exceeds the input face count (nothing to decimate up to).
TooManyVertices
The mesh has more vertices than the u32 index space allows.
